  The NWT is not a good translation unless you think it is o.k. to use a spiritistic defrocked priest (Johannes Greber) to help in the translation. I suggest that people who use this as a preferred translation also read the many footnotes. For example, John 14 14 shows it is perfectly o.k. to pray to Jesus. This is just one example.

  i have been raised as a jw and now i recently found out how full of crap it all is.

  the lies are just unbelievable at this point.

  on a side note my parents and my brother all want to leave too my dad is still in as an elder.

  These demonstrations also connect with the conscious class" "those who have one foot in and one foot out". These people were at least willing to slow down and read the signs. Some even took notes. It's almost as if they were agreeing with us in a silent way.

  You are stronger than you know. There is some great advice on here from people who know how you feel. Listen to their great advice. AS my husband continues to say to me--"never give up never give in and never give out". That comes from a man who knows first hand. We have five children, two of whom are still active Witnesses who have nothing to do with us because we left this dangerous cult and have become real Christians. It breaks his heart because this is a man who has stood by me, and I with him, for over 40 years in spite of my suffering a massive brain hemorrhage several years ago, having my head shaved, being half blind in both eyes, physically only, and still continue to suffer seizures on a regular basis. Don't put yourself down. You are a human who others care about. And most of all, God cares about you. Hang in there!

  Granted it is very hard to get active Witnesses who are totally loyal to the WAtchtower org. to read the signs or to come over and talk to you. Where these demonstrations really work is getting people to see the other side of the Watchtower org. and what they are hiding behind. That is one of our chief reasons for showing up at the Kingdom Hall. And that aspect of our demonstrations is really working.

  Question about number of memorial partakers

  when i was a kid (a long, long time ago) it seems like the number of "remnant" was around 8,000. at the memorial tonight, the brother kept bringing up the fact that last year there were only about 9,000+ (can't remember the exact number but it seemed closer to 10,000).

  what is the society's explanation for the number going up instead of down?

  Look at some of these "gems" found in the Feb. 1,1999 Watchtower pages 18-19. "The report in the 1939 Year Book of Jehovah's Witnesses stated: "The anointed followers of Christ Jesus now on earth are few in number"and never will their number be greater". And this statement by Fred Franz "No,no more additions!" he said:"That call ended way back there in 1931-35! There are no more additions". Now come forward a few years to the Watchtower May 1,2007 Questions from Readers. "When does the calling of Christians to a heavenly hope cease"? The Bible does not reveal a precise answer to that question". I would like to know what book they were reading to know that the call stopped. It is interesting to note that the number of participants who did receive the bread and wine, as Jesus instructed all to do in John 6:53, INCREASED by 1,230 more by 2008. It certainly will be interesting to see the figures for this year, if the Org. even decides to publish them.

  Isaacaustin the Memorial demonstration went well. We had several people helping us out. One young man, not a Jehovah's Witness, came over to talk with us. He even took one of our pamphlets listing our websites and the conference call. He said he would check them out. There are two congregations that meet there but, it didn't seem to be a "sold out"event. Tune in to the conference call on Sat. April 11 and you will here the stories of what happened at other Kingdom Halls where others were protesting.
